My mom and I had such a great time on the food tour! It’s a perfect blend of a walking historical guide and excellent food and drinks. We learned a lot about the history and culture of Quebec City which was provided in between each restaurant visit. We also loved the three other couples on the tour with us. It was a great way to meet other people. I highly recommend this tour! Our guide Lynne was most excellent and clearly had a lot of pride for her city and extensive knowledge of the history.

We loved our Gourmet food and history tour. It was the highlight of our trip to Quebec! Our tour guide Lyn is a history major and life long 20 generations Québécois. She has been a tour guide for years and in Quebec it takes training and a license to be a guide. We learned about the history of the area while we enjoyed perfect wine pairings with restaurant specialties. Our guide and the restaurants were very accommodating to my not eating pork or shrimp. Each restaurant made me a different dish and my husband (who does eat those items) enjoyed what the chefs had planned. I do suggest a different price from the tour for someone who doesn’t eat those expensive main course items. While I Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and my experience overall was excellent, if I were a couple who didn’t eat pork or shrimp I would suggest a different tour. One more suggestion. Book the tour later in the week as many places were closed on a Tuesday.

Lynn was amazing. She was very knowledgeable and one of the most friendly guides we have ever had. She is a historian that not only shared the history of old Quebec but also add a real life perspective. The food was great as well. We even went back to one of the restaurants the next night. We are coming back and will be connecting with Lynn again for other tours.

Having already done a tour in the morning, we were afraid we would find a lot of duplication in the presentation. We were so wrong! Our fabulous guide, Judith, first wanted to get to know us, where we were from, where our families originated. She used that information throughout our time together to personalize our tour. She had such command of not only Canadian history but framed everything with her extensive knowledge of past and current world events. We felt like we spent the afternoon with a wise and clever friend. The food stops were wonderful and conversation and laughter never waned. It was a memorable part of our visit, a definite “don’t miss”.

The food on the tour was good but the real highlight was our guide Judith, who brought her passion, humour and all-encompassing knowledge to the experience. Her references to architecture, history, politics, geography,....not only made Quebec City that much more vivid but were an excellent accompaniment to the tastings at various restaurants. A nice way to spend the afternoon , to be sure.

Confirmed and Charged but Nobody Showed Up

We booked a food tour for 2 couples, got a confirmation and ticket and our credit card was charged. We went to the designated location and waited quite a while in freezing rain. Called and no answer, called again and was told there has been a glitch and it was not entered in the system but she could see that we had made the reservation. She was very nice and we did receive a full refund but ultimately did not get the tour and had no alternate dinner reservation on a busy Saturday night so we were left in the lurch. The tour might be a good one but they obviously need a better system to make sure this does not happen. Very disappointing.

My husband and I usually pick a food tour in every city we travel to. This was by far one of the best. We stopped at lots of the top restaurants in the old city and all of the food was delicious and paired with some amazing wines! Guy, our guide was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and catered the tour around our group. My husband and I ran into Guy the next morning and he stopped to chat and recommend a breakfast spot. Would absolutely recommend this tour to everyone and anyone!

Our tour guide, Denis, made our 25th wedding anniversary special as we made our way through Old Quebec with a wonderful couple we had just met on this tour. Denis’ love for his city shone through the stories he shared with us all evening. The restaurants, and food choices, were both delicious and something out of the ordinary.
