2-Day Niagara Falls Trip from New York City by Train and Air

I was extremely disappointed with this trip. first of all the planning/organisation was horrendous. i was sent vouchers but no set itinerary which meant i was pretty much travelling in blind faith with no local contact. I arrived at Niagra unsure of who/what i was looking for. I found the driver as I was the only person on my trip and he was shouting my name at people getting off the train. .He was surprised that I didn't have his name and number. secondly, i has asked a number of times in advance for the name of the hotel. I was never given this or any form of voucher which again the driver was surprised about. when i arrived at the hotel i quickly realised why. feel free to google 'quality inn, niagra'. its probably one of the worst hotels i have stayed in in my life. dirty, aged, a room with very few things working. now i didn't expect a 5 star hotel but i did expect something decent to reflect the 600 price tag the trip has. i also wasnt even given the airline name only a conf number which isnt helpful when at the airport. whilst my driver was very lovely he was no 'guide'. the first evening he dropped me at the falls and pointed me across the dark park and said walk across this and you will find the falls. 'if you get lost, just follow some people as they are probably going there'. then i was instructed to text him when i was done. i was travelling alone and had booked a tour as i thought it would be good to be 'guided' around the falls rather than find my own way. i actually felt extremely cheated by the whole experience. the next day was the same, after dropping me at the falls at 11.15 he said he would be back at 6pm. that left me with 6.5 hour to do very little. the maid of the mist tour took only 30 mins and even the walk over to Canada didn't take that long. i understand that people may want to spend the day around the falls but a 9pm flight time is ridiculous. being picked up at 6pm still left me with 2hrs at the airport. awful trip.
